Foundform is designed as a local-first field archive. The app does not require a Foundform account, and your personal archive is not uploaded to a Foundform server.

Privacy at a glance.
Foundform is built around local processing and storage. Your finds, photographs, collections and associated archive data remain on your device unless you explicitly choose to export or share them.
1. About this policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Foundform handles information when you use the Foundform application.
Foundform is provided by Linus Weber.
2. Your Foundform archive
Foundform stores your archive locally on your device. This can include:
- objects and their images;
- cutouts and edited image data;
- multiple views of an object;
- collections;
- titles, descriptions and other metadata;
- optional location information;
- optional physical scale calibration and dimensions;
- editing and presentation settings.
Foundform does not require this archive to be uploaded to a Foundform-operated server in order for the app to function.
3. Camera
If you grant camera permission, Foundform can use your device's camera when you choose to capture an object.
Camera access is used to provide the capture features you request. Foundform does not use the camera to monitor you or continuously capture images in the background.
4. Photo library
Foundform can interact with your photo library when you choose to import an image or save compatible exported content.
The images you select can become part of your locally stored Foundform archive and may be processed on-device for features such as cropping, perspective correction, cutouts and image adjustments.
5. Location information
Location access is optional.
If you grant permission, Foundform may use your location when you capture or create a find so that the place where it was found can be stored alongside the object.
Location information forms part of the locally stored object metadata. You can use Foundform without granting location permission.
6. Image processing
Foundform provides tools for processing your captured and imported images, including perspective correction, cropping, cutouts, borders, color adjustments and related specimen rendering.
Foundform is designed to perform its core image-processing workflow on your device rather than sending your archive to a Foundform server for processing.
7. Scale calibration
Scale calibration is optional. If you choose to calibrate an object, Foundform stores information such as the reference points, the distance you entered and calculated physical dimensions as part of the object's local data.
This information is used for features such as displaying dimensions and producing scale-aware exports.
8. Sharing and exporting
Foundform allows you to export or share content using system features provided by iOS and iPadOS.
When you explicitly choose to share or export something, the destination you select — such as Files, Photos, AirDrop or another application — may receive that content.
Once content is sent to another service or application, its handling is governed by that service's own privacy practices.
9. Accounts
Foundform does not require you to create a Foundform account to use the app.
10. Analytics and advertising
Foundform does not include third-party advertising.
Foundform does not use your archive to build advertising profiles or sell your personal information to advertisers.
11. Data retention and deletion
Because your Foundform archive is stored locally, you control the objects and collections you create in the app. You can delete individual content using Foundform's available controls.
Deleting Foundform from your device may remove locally stored Foundform data associated with the app. Content that you previously exported or shared is not deleted from those external destinations.
12. Apple services
Foundform uses technologies and system services provided by Apple to deliver features such as camera access, photo selection, location, image processing and system sharing.
Your use of Apple devices and services is also subject to Apple's applicable terms and privacy policies.
13. Children's privacy
Foundform is a general-purpose design and reference tool and is not specifically directed at children.
Foundform does not knowingly operate a service designed to collect personal information from children.
14. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Foundform's functionality or data practices change.
When the policy is updated, the effective date shown on this page will be revised.
