Overview
Drive Beyond is designed with privacy in mind. The app does not require an account and does not use advertising or tracking technologies.
Your location and journey data are not sent to the developer or stored on an external server.
Location Data
Drive Beyond uses your device's location services to measure real-world distance travelled while journey tracking is active. This distance is used to calculate your progress along the virtual route you have selected.
Location processing takes place on your device. Drive Beyond does not transmit your precise location history to the developer or store it on a Drive Beyond server.
Depending on the permissions you grant, location access may continue while the app is in the background so that an active journey can continue recording travelled distance.
You can change or revoke location access at any time in the iOS Settings app under Privacy & Security → Location Services.
Journey Data
Information created while using Drive Beyond, such as your selected routes, journey progress, travelled distance and completed journeys, is stored locally on your device.
This information is used to provide the app's journey tracking, route progress, widgets, Live Activities and related features.
Data Collection
Drive Beyond does not collect personal information for advertising, analytics or user profiling.
In particular, Drive Beyond does not operate a user account system and does not collect:
- Your name or contact information
- Your precise location history on a developer-operated server
- Advertising identifiers
- Browsing or search history
- User profiles for advertising or tracking
In-App Purchases
Drive Beyond offers an optional one-time purchase of Drive Beyond Pro.
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Drive Beyond does not receive or store your payment card or banking information.
Apple may process information relating to your purchase according to Apple's own privacy policies and terms.
Apple Services
Drive Beyond uses Apple platform services such as MapKit, Core Location, StoreKit, WidgetKit and ActivityKit to provide app functionality.
Your use of Apple services is also subject to Apple's applicable privacy policies and terms.
Notifications & Live Activities
If enabled, Drive Beyond may provide local notifications and Live Activities relating to your journey progress, stops and points of interest.
You can disable notifications or other permissions at any time through the iOS Settings app.
Third-Party Advertising & Tracking
Drive Beyond does not contain third-party advertising and does not use your data to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
Data Sharing
Drive Beyond does not sell your personal data.
Because Drive Beyond does not operate a backend service for storing your journeys or location history, this information is not shared by the developer with advertisers or data brokers.
Deleting Your Data
Journey information stored by Drive Beyond can be removed using the available controls within the app.
Removing the app from your device also removes locally stored Drive Beyond data, subject to any backups or storage mechanisms provided by Apple's operating system and services.
Children's Privacy
Drive Beyond is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app does not require users to create an account or provide personal information to the developer.
Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated if Drive Beyond's features or data practices change. The latest version will always be available on this page, together with the date of the most recent update.
